Springfield Firefighters Secure Scene After Garage Roof Collapse on Old Lake Road

Springfield Township, PA – At approximately 10:45 PM, first responders from the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a reported structure collapse near 12700 Old Lake Road in Springfield Township. Shortly after the initial dispatch, crews were informed that a garage roof had collapsed.
Engine 643 and Utility 646 arrived on the scene to find the garage roof completely caved in. Fire personnel ensured that utilities to the structure were safely secured. Going above and beyond, first responders also assisted in digging out a vehicle parked next to the partially collapsed garage, enabling the owner to safely relocate it.
