West Springfield, PA – This afternoon, around 4 PM, the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire in the eastbound lanes, just beyond the 3-mile marker and east of Exit 3. Crews were informed that a semi-truck was actively on fire, though the fire had not extended to the trailer. Engines 643 and 644 responded promptly to the scene, with 64L3 directing Engine 643 to position behind it. The crews swiftly brought the fire under control, and thankfully, no injuries were reported.
