Narrative

Girard Township, PAEarly this morning, at approximately 3:20 AM, the Platea Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire near Exit 18. Multiple callers reported seeing flames coming from the engine compartment. Erie County relayed these reports as Engine 592 responded to the scene. Pennsylvania State Police, already on location, communicated to Erie County to confirm the fire and provided guidance for crews to access the vehicle via the westbound exit ramp facing east.

Upon arrival, firefighters quickly deployed a bumper line and initiated fire suppression efforts to contain and extinguish the flames. Utility 599 later arrived to assist with fire police operations, ensuring scene safety and traffic control. Thanks to the swift response, the fire was brought under control without further incident. No injuries were reported.
